Ignorant of His Devices
|
 We should not spend any time trying to understand Satan's devices against us in Scripture, true or false? While it is true that we should spend most of our time in the Word of God focusing on our most wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Apostle Paul himself, the one who gives us much of the information that we have concerning our wicked and sly enemy, Satan, said that he was not ignorant of Satan's schemes. So, we see this statement that we should not spend any time trying to understand Satan's devices against us in Scripture, is a false statement. The key phrase of course that makes it a false statement is "in Scripture." It is a waste of time, and even detrimental to our spiritual health to try and figure out what Satan may be up to apart from the Word of God. Just about everybody has an opinion and will be delighted to share it with us concerning the enemy of our souls, Satan. But only the Word of God gives us authoritative and infallible truth concerning him and his evil plans.
We know from the Word of God that Satan has not always been Satan! He is a created being of course, and as all of God's creation, he was good and perfect at his creation, but when Lucifer turned away from God and turned to himself, he became an essentially selfish being. Of course, God had no choice but to judge Lucifer when he sinned and ever since, Lucifer who became Satan, has been the enemy of God and His highest creation, mankind.
