All We Will Ever Need

All We Will Ever Need

A dear lady who had known Christ many years, was about to pass on to Heaven to be with her beloved Savior. As she lay on what was to be her deathbed, she was seen to be moving her lips, and a faint voice was heard. Her loved ones were all gathered around her bed and as some of them noticed this, they began to be quiet, and some even bent over near her mouth to hear what she said. Soon, it was known that she was saying the same word over and over, "Him! Him! Him!" The reason for this was that soon after her conversion to Christ as a young girl, she began to memorize Scripture, and one particular verse had become very dear to her. This one verse she called her life verse was 2 Timothy 1:12, which says, "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day." As she aged, and especially near the end of her life, her memory had failed her, and finally only this one word remained, "Him!" She had all she needed in HIM as she passed into eternity!

We share this story so that we can see the importance of knowing Christ as Savior, and having Him in our lives so as to have all we need in life and death, time and eternity. Paul the apostle wrote some of his Epistles from prison, a Roman dungeon, from which he knew he would never leave until he gave his life in service to his Savior. This great letter to his son in the faith, Timothy, was written from prison. Paul had the joy of the Lord in his heart though his earthly life was almost gone. This joy and peace that we have in Christ is also seen in his letter to the Ephesians, also written from prison.

We are thankful to offer free Bible courses taught by great men of God on both these epistles in the BBN Bible Institute, www.bbnbi.org. The course on Ephesians is number 32100, and the course on 2 Timothy is number 32400. We trust these will be a blessing to you, and that you will share your joy with your friends.
