Deep Thirst

Deep Thirst
The thirst for water is an amazing thing. Years ago an explorer in the Australian outback died of thirst. He had run out of water in his canteen, and as his body was found days later, it was seen where he had scratched on the canteen that he was lost--for lack of water. The very Word of God speaks of a thirst that goes far deeper and is far more unquenchable than a thirst for water and that thirst is the thirst for God's Word itself. Today, it seems that people will take the word of almost anyone except God. His Word is scoffed and sneered at by the multitudes, yet God Himself says in His Word: "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the Word of the LORD, and shall not find it." (Amos 8:11-12) Today, God's Word is available in many ways, and those who know their spiritual thirst, that thirst that goes far deeper than physical thirst, are seeking it out. Jesus said, "I am the bread of life: he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst." (John 6:35)
In the BBN Bible Institute, there are well over 140,000 registered students interested in God's Word, and the number is growing every day. If you realize a hunger and a thirst deep in your spirit that nothing else has ever touched, it may be the thirst that only God's Word rightly understood can quench. You may drink deeply and freely at the wells of salvation here in the BBN BI (www.bbnbi.org), so come and get it, and while you're at it, tell a friend!
