THE ONLY DEBT THAT COUNTS
|
 We
recently came to you, the BBN BI students, and admitted our
indebtedness, admittedly an indebtedness that all of you are aware of
and share with us! To make it very clear what this debt was all
about, we shared a question from a BBN BI course that goes like this:
The world needs the message that we have, so that puts us in debt
to the world. We then said that the debt that we owe is a Gospel
debt. We who are saved are in debt to the world to give them the
Gospel, since there is no other way for men, women, boys and girls to
be saved from eternal loss. It is true that we at BBN are feverishly
working to get this eternal life-giving message to the world, but it
is a labor of love.
Well,
since we all know what this great debt is, now we will say one more
thing about it. We are hearing every day about one once-great
financial institution after another that is about to go under or has
already failed. Their debt was just too much and they could not pay
it off. However, though our Gospel debt is by far larger than any of
financial debts we have heard of, yet we are not about to give up the
fight for the souls of men and women, boys and girls. This great debt
is motivated by one thing, and that one thing is defined for us by
the apostle Paul in his epistle to the Romans, chapter 13 and verse
8. He says, “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another:
for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” So, one
day all the financial debt of the world is not going to matter one
bit. That day will be the day that we are called to give an account
to our Lord Jesus. But, the debt that we legitimately owe to the lost
will matter at that time! In fact, it will be the only
debt that will count!
This
being true, we have an offer that we believe you cannot refuse! A
great way for us all to get together and work on reducing our great
Gospel debt of love is coming up in about a week here at BBN! We call
it our annual Share-a-Thon in which we raise the money necessary to
continue this ministry that the Lord has given us for these
thirty-seven years now! Why don’t we just get with God and ask
what He would have us do? If BBN BI has been a blessing to you in any
