Faith Crossing

The teen years are full of change, and BBN helps young people navigate those often turbulent years with this program. Experience the challenges of the teen years through the eyes of young Victoria McIntire and her family, as together they tackle issues such as peer pressure, friendship and the death of a family member. Through a combination of original dramas and comments from teens and adults, Faith Crossing is designed to help young people survive and thrive during the adolescent journey of faith.

Availability notice - Copies of Faith Crossing are not available.  We're sorry.  On the bright side, we still have the option to hear the program when it airs on BBN!  Thanks for enjoying the program.

Faith Crossing Schedule

FC139- The Cultist Next Door

Have you ever thought you knew someone and then were caught off guard to learn of some crazy choice he made?  (And NO, Tori, this has nothing to do with your Dad's decision to combine formal wear and Flip Flops at last summer's Hawaii banquet.)

For the past few weeks the folks around the town of Faith Crossing have been wondering what happened to local teen Jay Horn.  Was it a reckless act of youthful exuberance that took him to some far-off land?  Was he abducted by a deranged poultry transporter from Decatur?  The truth may be even worse.

This week we find out where Jay Horn has been and some things to watch out for when dealing with the enticement of false religions.

Saturday and Wednesday on Faith Crossing...exploring the journey of faith with you.

FC54-Hello!  Is Anybody LISTENING?

Ahh, it's Sunday morning, and we're sitting in church.  We're in our usual seats and the Pastor is saying his usual inspiring things to help equip us for God's service.  But as we sit there looking so respectable on the OUTSIDE, what's happening INSIDE?

In other words, are we really LISTENING?  It's been said that the average American's attention span is not 30 minutes...not even 3 minutes...but rather 17 seconds.  (Did you catch that?)  Seventeen SECONDS before our minds are off into the land of who-knows-what!  One mind is off to the land of "what-happened-last-week" or "what's happening tonight" or "the funny hairstyle of the lady sitting in the pew in front of you" or whatever.

What's going on in your mind when the Pastor's at the pulpit?

Join us Saturday and Wednesday for Faith Crossing...exploring the adolescent journey of faith with you.

FC87-Maggie the Cut-Up

Describe a guy as a "cut-up" and you probably mean he's the class clown, always trying to make people laugh.  Well, Maggie's a cut-up, but in a different way.  Sure, she loves a good laugh.  But this time, she figured her problem was no laughing matter.

Tori remains unconvinced, especially as she clings to the hope of some day obtaining the coveted Raphael Guccipolo shoes through the power of "The CARD."

The Bible has a lot to say about money and material things.  Consider the powerful enticement of "easy credit" and the freedom brought by a little "plastic surgery." That's this week on Faith Crossing...exploring the journey of faith with you.

FC84- A Dent in God's Car

Q:  What kind of car does God have?

(If you guessed a cool blue convertible, you may be right.  It just depends.)  Here's the answer:

A:  It looks exactly like yours.

Join us Saturday as we consider the real owner of this stuff we call our own.

Saturday and Wednesday on Faith Crossing...exploring the adolescent journey of faith with you.

FC27-I Know What You're Thinking

What if everybody could hear your thoughts?  Suppose we attached some kind of speaker to your head and broadcast everything that came into your mind for the enlightenment of those around you?  Then everyone would know your opinion about Aunt Emmy's new blue and brown polka-dot dress or Uncle Bert's new orange toupee or...anything that happened to come into your skull?

Would you LIKE that?

You're shaking your head, "No."  (Or maybe it was actually "NOOOO!!")

The fact is, it's good that people don't know all our thoughts, because a lot of things come into our heads that really shouldn't come out of our mouths at that moment...if EVER.

This week on Faith Crossing we think about...well, thoughts as we continue exploring the adolescent journey of faith.  Saturday and Wednesday on BBN.

FC137-Tori WINS...Or Does She?

Tori McIntire has been on a quest to win a "Cruise for Four" contest sponsored by Roscoe's Coffee Shop and this week we find out if she wins or--

"IF she wins?!" interrupted Tori.  "IF?!!!!  You mean I might have choked down dozens of Roscoe Burgers for NOTHING?!"

You'll have to wait and find out like everybody else, Tori.  (We don't believe in playing favorites here at Faith Crossing Update Central.)

So let's rescue Ambia from that rickety old bridge and continue the journey of faith Saturday and Wednesday right here at Faith Crossing!

FC136- The Letterboxing Continues

Tori McIntire is determined...or is that obsessed?

"Hey, I HEARD that," Tori said from the other room.

Internet Update Guy decided to type a little more quietly.

(Tori McIntire is obsessed with winning that contest at Roscoe's Coffee Shop.  She's on the final requirement in order to qualify for the "free" Grand Prize cruise.  Rumor has it that this is a story of Incessant Whining, Momentary Triumph and Cold-hearted Scheming!)

Join us Saturday and Wednesday for Faith Crossing, exploring the adolescent journey of faith!  (And bring your bug spray.)

FC36- No Info Joe

Poor Joe.  How does he survive under the weight of his burdens?  What burdens?  “My parents actually expect me to TALK to them!” Joe shouted in disbelief.  “I do talk...well, maybe not in complete sentences...but I DO TALK!  Just last night I asked for twenty bucks.  Hmph.  It's just so unfair.”

Joe stomped off to grab a piece of beef jerky and marvel at the injustice of it all.

Is there any hope for Joe and his perplexed parents?  Can this divide EVER be crossed?  Can communication TRIUMPH IN THE HOME OF NO INFO JOE??!!!

Um...excuse me.  We got a little carried away there.  Anyway, join us this week for Faith Crossing, as we think about communication and explore the adolescent journey of faith.  Saturday and Wednesday (or right here on-line.)

FC135-The Letterbox-1

Have you ever gone letterboxing?  It involves following a map, finding a treasure and--in the case of Tori--putting up with excessive whining.  You see, sometimes in life the journey of faith takes us to dirty, rocky trails...and hopefully, it'll lead to victory.

Join us Saturday and Wednesday as we explore the journey with you on Faith Crossing!

FC31-New Guy

He was a disruptive force in the closely knit youth group of the First Church of the Cliques.  He wasn't part of the usual group of friends who had known each other for so long.  When he dared enter the room, discussion of clothes, sports and even smelly chickens stopped.  How dare this intruder disturb their comfortable routine?!

Join us this week and find out how the color of a front door can be part of your ministry of welcoming newcomers and treating others the way YOU would want to be treated.

Faith Crossing.  Exploring the journey of faith Saturday and Wednesday right here on BBN.
