T.M. JOHNSON was a pastor for 20 years in Chicago until God led him into full-time evangelism. He preached in North and South America as well as in Europe and Asia. In 1967, Dr. Johnson became senior pastor of Bibletown Community Church and president of the Bibletown Bible conference in Boca Raton, Florida. He remained with the church until retirement in 1982. Dr. Johnson passed away in 2002 at the age of 93.

TED RENDALL served for 43 years on the staff of Prairie Bible Institute in Alberta, Canada, as a faculty member, as an administrator, and as editor of the Institute's monthly periodicals. For 6 years, he served as Institute President. For 23 years of his time at Prairie, Dr. Rendall also served as Senior Pastor of the campus church, the Prairie Tabernacle Congregation. He is the author of several books and now serves as Lecturer at the Stephen Olford Center at Union University. Dr. Rendall and his wife have traveled extensively, speaking and preaching at conferences and churches in over 30 countries.

JOHN PHILLIPS taught and wrote about the Bible over a lifetime of fruitful ministry. He authored over 50 books. Born in Britain, he moved to Canada after World War II, where he founded and pastored a small church. Dr. Phillips later joined the staff of Moody Bible Institute where he served for 25 years. John Phillips passed away in July of 2010.

1- SAT

VANCE HAVNER was a revivalist who had a quick wit. He was a popular speaker and his extensive Bible knowledge made him an effective preacher. Dr. Havner was a native of Catawba County, North Carolina. He preached his first sermon at the age of 12, and was ordained at the age of 15. Vance Havner pastored in North and South Carolina and became a full-time evangelist in the 1930's. He went home to be with the Lord in 1986 at the age of 84.

MEL JOHNSON was a Christian radio broadcaster for nearly 60 years and served as chairman of the Board of Trustees at Northwestern College. His radio shows included the "Children's Bible Hour," which was started in 1942 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and continues to be broadcast on BBN. Mel Johnson was also an evangelist with Youth for Christ, which involved traveling to cities across the country to organize Saturday evening rallies for young people. He passed away in 2001 at the age of 83.

LEHMAN STRAUSS taught Old Testament history at Philadelphia Bible Institute, and pastored churches in Pennsylvania and Michigan. In 1963, he began to devote full time to an itinerant Bible conference and evangelistic ministry world-wide. Dr. Strauss was residing in Florida and writing his 19th book at age 86 when the Lord called him home in 1997.

KENNETH GANGEL served at Dallas Theological Seminary in several capacities for 27 years.
Dr. Gangel was one of the most influential Christian educators of the 20th century; a leader of leaders; and a champion of the Christian family. Kenn authored or edited 57 books and lectured in more than 40 educational institutions worldwide. Even in retirement, Dr. Gangel served as the Scholar-in-Residence for Toccoa Falls College and continued to edit his own leadership publication. He passed away in 2009 at the age of 74.

DOUGLAS MCLACHLAN came to know Christ at the age of 16. His call to the ministry came simultaneously with his salvation experience as he had a burden to be a servant of the Lord. Dr. McLachlan has taught in the areas of homiletics and pastoral theology. He continues to serve as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chancellor, and President Emeritus of Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

ERNEST PICKERING was a pastor; author of numerous articles and books; a college administrator; and mission board representative. After he experienced a recurrence of cancer near his brain, the radiation used to treat the cancer caused him to become totally blind in 1996. Assisted by his wife, Dr. Pickering continued to preach without notes until the progress of the disease made continuation of his ministry impossible. He passed away in 2000.

WALTER WILSON was an American medical doctor, salesman, businessman, preacher and soul-winner. He recorded many of his remarkable experiences in a series of books to instruct and encourage others in the great work of spreading the gospel. Dr. Wilson was saved at the age of 15 and the following year, began holding evangelistic street meetings. Although never ordained, he led many to put their trust in Jesus, winning his audience with wit and homely stories. Walter Wilson passed away in 1969 at the age of 88.

SAM DALTON entered full-time evangelism in 1966 and continued this work for nearly 40 years. He was saved out of a life of gambling and was used of the Lord in preaching in churches, Bible conferences and rescue missions. Sam Dalton's testimony has been featured on the Unshackled broadcast, which is produced by the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago. Sam Dalton passed away a few years ago.

ALAN FLEECE served as the second president of Columbia International University (then Columbia Bible College) from 1953-1966. Before becoming president of CIU, Dr. Fleece served as a professor at the college during two separate periods beginning in 1938. In between those periods he taught at Moody Bible Institute, and then pastored a church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Following his years at the college, Alan Fleece entered a traveling preaching ministry in Bible conferences overseas.

Bob Cook spent 18 years as a full-time pastor. In 1948 Dr. Cook left the pastorate to become the second President of Youth for Christ International. He also was Vice President of Scripture Press in Wheaton, Illinois. In 1962 Dr. Cook accepted the Presidency of The King's College in Briarcliff Manor, New York. During his twenty-three years as president, he started "The King's Hour" radio broadcast. Dr. Cook retired from the Presidency in 1985, and was Chancellor of the college until his death in 1991.

Vance Havner was a revivalist who had a quick wit. He was a popular speaker and his extensive Bible knowledge made him an effective preacher. Dr. Havner was a native of Catawba County, North Carolina. He preached his first sermon at the age of 12, and was ordained at the age of 15. Vance Havner pastored in North and South Carolina and became a full-time evangelist in the 1930's. He went home to be with the Lord in 1986 at the age of 84.

Harold Wildish was born in England in 1903 and was converted to Christ at the age of 12. Six years later, he preached his first message to a group of late night English drinkers. In 1925, Mr Wildish sailed to the Amazon with 35 dollars and a heart full of faith. Years later, malaria forced him to leave the Amazon and head to the West Indies. Harold Wildish spent the rest of his life in Jamaica as a missionary for the Plymouth Brethren. He passed away in 1982.

Bob Cook spent 18 years as a full-time pastor. In 1948 Dr. Cook left the pastorate to become the second President of Youth for Christ International. He also was Vice President of Scripture Press in Wheaton, Illinois. In 1962 Dr. Cook accepted the Presidency of The King's College in Briarcliff Manor, New York. During his twenty-three years as president, he started "The King's Hour" radio broadcast. Dr. Cook retired from the Presidency in 1985, and was Chancellor of the college until his death in 1991.

James Stewart was born in Scotland. Immediately after receiving Christ at age 14, he began to preach the Gospel and became known as "The Boy Preacher". Dr. Stewart was used in a mighty revival throughout Eastern Europe just prior to World War II. He founded Revival Literature which publishes his extensive writings on the subject of true revival and the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

W.A. Criswell was born in Eldorado, Oklahoma in 1909. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 10 and held student pastorates during his college studies at Baylor University. Called to Dallas' First Baptist Church in 1944, Dr. Criswell retired as senior pastor in 1995 after half a century of service to that church. He was called home to glory in 2002.

John Hunter was born in Liverpool in 1909. He trained as a teacher but often took the time to preach the Gospel in nearby towns, traveling the 20 or 30 miles on his bicycle. John Hunter continued his teaching career until 1960, at which time he stepped out on faith and became a missionary. Dr. Hunter wrote more than 20 books as well as adult Sunday school lessons. He traveled the world teaching and preaching in Bible Conferences until early in 1994, at which time he suffered a stroke. John Hunter went to be with the Lord in 2005 at the age of 96.

Bill Rice III is the Chairman of the Board for Bill Rice Ranch Ministries. Dr. Rice grew up in an atmosphere of revival and evangelism. As a young boy, he and his family traveled with his evangelist father in revivals throughout the United States. Dr. Bill Rice III is actively involved in the summer camp ministry of the Ranch and speaks around the country in local church revivals, conferences, and regional events of the Ranch.
