Prophecies You Can Trust!
The Bible contains prophecies that have come to be known in two groupings. One group has come to be known as the Major Prophets. These include such great names as Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel. The other group have come to be known as the Minor Prophets and include such notables as Jonah, Hosea and Malachi among others. Each of the prophecies that are included in the Bible are absolutely certain to come to pass because they are a part of God's Word. Though some are known as Major and others Minor Prophets, this has nothing to do with the importance of their message! All of the prophecies of Scripture are important because they are God's Word, but also because they are all working together to point to the comings of our Lord Jesus Christ to this earth! For an example, the Lord Jesus is referred to in Isaiah's prophecy as the Servant of Jehovah, and He is referenced seventeen times just in his prophecy alone!

Another of the Major Prophets is the prophet Jeremiah; he wrote two Bible Books, Jeremiah and Lamentations (which is a Book commemorating the Fall of Jerusalem). Another tremendous fact of this little Book of Lamentations is that it contains one of the greatest confessions of faith in God found in all of the Scriptures, contained in the third chapter of the Book!

We also find Ezekiel among the Major Prophets and he was a priest, his name meaning "God Strengthens."  Ezekiel gives us some amazing prophecies concerning the future Great Tribulation coming on the earth. But, also, Ezekiel looks beyond this terrible time and sees a glorious time still future with a new Temple! This temple takes the prophet nine chapters to fully tell us about it. The most wonderful truth about this future time known as the Millennium is that Jesus Christ Himself will reign from David’s Throne in Jerusalem.

Finally, among the Major Prophets is the prophet Daniel, and the book of Daniel is the Old Testament counterpart to the New Testament book of Revelation.  A remarkable fact of Daniel's prophecy is that Daniel chapter 9 is the place in which we get the length of the 7 year Tribulation Period. Many other truths could be given about these men and their prophecies, but we will leave that to Dr. Donald R. Hubbard who teaches courses 30100 and 30200, the Major and Minor Prophets in our free BBN Bible Institute at www.bbnbi.org.  Come enjoy these studies.
