Finishing well!

It is relatively simple to begin something, even something as momentous as the Christian life. Yet it is something quite different to complete a task, and even more to finish well in that task. The Bible shows us that not everyone who begins walking with Christ necessarily finishes well. But God has given us everything we need in which to complete the Christian Race and hear His "Well Done!" On July 25, 2010 another of our Bible teachers in the BBN Bible Institute completed his course and definitely kept the Faith, and is now with the Lord awaiting the Day when he will stand before his Savior to receive the rewards won in his Christian walk. That Bible teacher is Dr. John Phillips. The course that Dr. Phillips taught is number 41600, in the Bible characters division of study and is appropriately titled Special Bible Characters. Some of the characters Dr. Phillips highlighted may be relatively unknown to the average Bible student. This is part of what made Dr. Phillips the man of God that he was. He knew the Word of God in a scholarly and spiritual way, but he also knew it in a sensible and practical way. If you choose to study this course taught by Dr. Phillips, you will learn some little-known, but practical facts about people such as Abner, Joab, Elijah and Esau, among others. 

One of the major reasons Dr. Phillips was able to finish well was his working knowledge of God's Word. Any believer can have this same knowledge if he or she will "study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Tim. 2:15).
