Is it just me or is it really true? Does time actually slow down after the hustle and bustle of Christmas? I think you know what I mean!
As we approach the last days of the current calendar year, it seems that there is a definite slowdown in activities. There are actually days with no gifts to buy and no special meals to prepare; nights are void of Cantata and play practices and class get-togethers. Even the office seems quiet and there is time to stop and reflect on all that has been accomplished. It seems more peaceful, more relaxed as the last days of the year slip by.
The closing of a year always brings with it a time of reflecting as we usher out the Old Year and welcome in the New. It brings refreshing as we ponder the success of past projects and marvel at the Lord’s blessings. It gives us a chance to evaluate our failures and to refocus as we ask Him for help and direction in the days ahead.
Here at BBN BI as I ponder over the events of 2007, it is truly amazing to see how our God has mightily moved to guide us. When I look back and see what has been accomplished I know it is only by His Grace that this institute even exists. He has provided the Bible study material needed to round out the 100+ courses in English. He has brought together the team to select, record, edit, launch, and support those materials. He has given the staff the abilities to polish the electronic technology so it all works best for our purpose. He has led thousands of students to the web site and has burdened their hearts to study His infallible Word. He has been faithful in every area of this ministry.
When I think about what He has done, I am refreshed in knowing that He is ever present to guide and help us. He will not slumber or sleep as the New Year begins, but He will continue to help those who seek Him. It is encouraging to know that so many have benefited from the school and that propels us into 2008.
As the staff has gathered and discussed the future, we have committed to refocus our efforts and to trust our God to help us as we strive to serve Him. We plan to continue in the direction that He has given us and to make the BBN Bible Institute even a better tool for all who wish to study in 2008. Thank you for being a part of this ministry. Many of you have prayed for us, you have written to tell us what it means to you to have a place where you can study God’s Word at your own pace and free of charge, and many of you have supported us financially to help continue this online Bible Institute. We thank you all and pray that your New Year will be a prosperous one as God supplies according to His Will.
Take some time while things seem a little slower to reflect, refresh, and refocus on your purpose. Let us serve God with gladness!
