Frequently asked Questions about listening to programs on-demand:
Q: Why is the program not updated?
A: We typically update programs early on the day they are scheduled to air. Occasionally we can't update a program until later in the day it airs. If you notice that a program is a whole day overdue, please notify us. To notify us, click here.
Q: Why do I get an error message when I try to listen?
A: There are a variety of circumstances that can lead to an error message. Here are some issues users have reported:
1. Firewalls - Some firewalls can block BBN streaming. One way to test and see if your firewall is indeed the problem is to disable the firewall completely and then try streaming BBN, however, we don't recommend continued operation without some kind of firewall. For BBN On-Demand programming to work, your hardware router will need to be able to pass TCP and UDP data on port 1755. Most routers (but not all) allow this by default.
2. Download Accelerators - We have encountered errors when "download accelerator" programs are installed on a machine. For instance, If you use software called Download Accelerator Plus, hold down the ALT key when you click the BBN on-demand link to temporarily disable browser integration of DAP.
3. BBN On-Demand streaming requires the MMS protocol to work – MMS should work by default, but just in case your default settings have been changed, navigate within Windows Media Player to TOOLS / OPTIONS / NETWORK (tab) / UDP and TCP need to be checked.
