Faith Crossing

The teen years are full of change, and BBN helps young people navigate those often turbulent years with this program. Experience the challenges of the teen years through the eyes of young Victoria McIntire and her family, as together they tackle issues such as peer pressure, friendship and the death of a family member. Through a combination of original dramas and comments from teens and adults, Faith Crossing is designed to help young people survive and thrive during the adolescent journey of faith.

Faith Crossing Schedule
*

FC- TJ the Master Mechanic

Ever been in a TOUGH situation?  Not just "tough" but TOUGH?  Then someone came along and seemed to be an answer to your prayers?  Before long, though, you realized it was more of a nightmare than a dream come true.

It seems that Tori's sister Melissa has met Mr. Wrong in her hour of need.  How will she deal with TJ the Master Mechanic?

Join us this week for Faith Crossing...exploring the adolescent journey of faith.  Saturday (around 10:45am & 4:50pm Eastern) and Wednesday (around 6:05pm Eastern) right here on BBN.

FC66- Remember Skorchy-2

Have you ever thought about doing something and decided not to do it?  Many times, probably.  We make decisions like that every day.  Do you ever have one of those "WHAT IF" moments when you think about a decision you made and wonder, "what if I had taken that chance" or "what if I'd stayed with it?"

"I'd be a world-champion watermelon seed spitter,"  suggested Jackson Jacobson.  Ambia just rolled her eyes.

"I totally know what you mean," said Tori, surprising Internet Update Guy by actually agreeing with him for a change.  "I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had NOT chosen to pursue my early love of cooking.  So many would have missed out on my almond-and-poppy-seed cookies!"

Hmmm...the world would certainly be different, Tori.  (Less indigestion, for starters.)

"Hey, I heard that!"  yelled Tori indignantly.  "Just putting it in parentheses doesn't make it silent!"

(With that, Internet Update Guy was reminded of two things.  One...the importance of giving our dreams a chance and two...the need to write in really tiny fonts.)

Join us Saturday for Faith Crossing as we consider change--and decision-making--along the road of life.

FC140- Imagine That

Have you ever passed a group of people and wondered if they were talking about you?  Maybe just as you passed them, their laughter and whispers left you with a nagging sense that YOU were the subject of their jokes.

This week, Ambia's cousin Jackson introduces his latest invention in an on-going search for fame, fortune and free food.  Ambia will be reminded that not everything is necessarily the way it appears.

Join us Saturday and Wednesday as you consider gossip along the road of life...Faith Crossing:  Exploring the adolescent journey of faith.

FC12- A Hamster Tale

Have you noticed that the mistakes of others are usually more entertaining than our own slip-ups?  For instance, remember that time Tori tried to--

"HEY NOW!"  interrupted Tori before Internet Update Guy could get the story typed.  "Let's not go there!"

(sigh)  Fine.  Actually, that's an example of how a story is much more interesting when the greased pig is in someone else's back yard.

"HEY!  You said you wouldn't go there!" said Tori.

No, I didn't.  But maybe YOU should, Tori.  (And you at home reading this.)  Join us this week for Faith Crossing, and consider the value in NOT taking our miscues too seriously.  Because really Tori, your life is NOT over when something embarrassing happens.

Join us Saturday and Wednesday for Faith Crossing...exploring the adolescent journey of faith.

FC50 & 51-I Know STUFF!

Christians know the best news of all--the news of the Savior's birth, life, death and His resurrection again from the grave.  But telling others about that eternal "Stuff" can be verrrrrry difficult, as Melissa is learning.

Pastor Chris' great new witnessing tools are a start, but there's much more to it than just that.  Join us Saturday and Wednesday as we consider the challenge and privilege of sharing the best news of all with a hurting world.

Faith Crossing...exploring the journey of faith with you.

FC49- Preaching in Prayer

Prayer is important in the Christian life.  It's a chance to talk to our Heavenly Father about a difficult exam at school, a nagging conflict with a classmate or a last minute plea for rain because we really don't feel like mowing the lawn.  Sure, we can pray about anything--even the lawn.

But how can we make sure prayer is more than just a selfish pursuit of what we want or a chance to criticize someone in a pseudo-spiritual way?  And how can we avoid making it more of a sermon than a petition?

Join us for Faith Crossing this weekend and consider the temptation of PREACHING in PRAYER...Saturday and Wednesday on BBN.

FC28--The Endless Journey Begins

"Endless...or it just SEEMED endless," corrected Brian McIntire.  "Either way, it was loooooonnnnnnnnnnggg.  But any time spent with Tori when we're packed in a stuffy old van with nothing to do for 7 hours...well, life is tough."

"Hey, Mister," began an eavesdropping Tori McIntire.  "I heard--hey, I wasn't eaves-whatever.  I just happened to hear what he said...as I stood nearby...with a stethoscope...against the wall.  You people have no respect for the burden I bear!"

What burden?

"I was catching claustrophia like CRAZY on that trip.  Anybody who listens to my story will definitely understand--unlike some BROTHERS I know."

How can we make the most of a long...tedious trip?  Think about that as you join us for Faith Crossing.  Saturday and Wednesday on BBN.

FC16-Good Sports

"If you're ready to kick some home runs and shoot some touchdowns, join us this week for Faith Crossing!"  Tori shouted, proud of her newly-acquired sports knowledge.  "I am soooooo going to impress Dad when I tell him how much I've learned about sports!"

As Tori, walked away proudly, Internet Update Guy slowly shook his head and thought to himself (for who ELSE could he think to?)  "Tori, you have it all wrong when it comes to sports, but at least your right in your desire to make a connection with your very busy Dad."

Join us this week for a look at why making a parental connection is kids' work, not just the job of Mom or Dad.  Saturday and Wednesday here on BBN.

Thankfulness...that's our focus this week (and it's not even November 27th.)  Too often, we appreciate something more AFTER it's gone than we did when we had it.

"I don't appreciate those socks, Internet Update Guy," interrupted Tori McIntire, sadly shaking her head.  "They TOTALLY clash with the shirt."

Suddenly, Internet Update Guy is feeling thankful for when Tori's NOT looking over his shoulder.

"HEY!  I heard that!"

(Join us this week for a look at thankfulness.  Saturday and Wednesday on Faith Crossing.)

"And Whisper-typing will NOT help you, mister!"

(Whisper-type?  Who ME?)

FC95- At Least They Didn't Call You....

Ahh...Nicknames.  They can inspire, encourage...or (all-too-likely) EMBARRASS you.  Take Brian, for instance.  They used to call him "Spot."  (Slumpy still does.)  Brian would prefer, "BRAIN" or "TooCool4Wordz" or...well, just about anything other than "Spot."  Now, Ambia's been called a nickname, and she's not liking it either.  Somehow the old "sticks and stones" nursery rhyme doesn't work too well in this situation.

Does God care about nicknames?  (Should we?)  Join us Saturday and Wednesday for Faith Crossing...exploring the adolescent journey of faith.
