Faith Crossing
|
The teen years are full of change, and BBN helps young people navigate those often turbulent years with this program. Experience the challenges of the teen years through the eyes of young Victoria McIntire and her family, as together they tackle issues such as peer pressure, friendship and the death of a family member. Through a combination of original dramas and comments from teens and adults, Faith Crossing is designed to help young people survive and thrive during the adolescent journey of faith.
Availability notice - Copies of Faith Crossing are
not available. We're sorry. On the bright side, we still have the option
to hear the program when it airs on BBN! Thanks for enjoying the program.

FC95- At Least They Didn't Call You....
Ahh...Nicknames. They can inspire, encourage...or (all-too-likely) EMBARRASS you. Take Brian, for instance. They used to call him "Spot." (Slumpy still does.) Brian would prefer, "BRAIN" or "TooCool4Wordz" or...well, just about anything other than "Spot." Now, Ambia's been called a nickname, and she's not liking it either. Somehow the old "sticks and stones" nursery rhyme doesn't work too well in this situation.
Does God care about nicknames? (Should we?) Join us Saturday and Wednesday for Faith Crossing...exploring the adolescent journey of faith.

FC107- Just WAIT till I'm OLDER!
Ambia Jacobson is pretty new to Faith Crossing. She and her mother (that's Maggie--Tori's Grandma's nurse...oh, nevermind. It's kind of a long story.)
Anyway, Ambia wants some more freedom. "Freedom to FLY!" she says. "But Mom is always clipping my wings," she adds with a scowl.
More on this burgeoning conflict this week as we explore the adolescent journey of faith...Faith Crossing--Saturday and Wednesday on BBN.

FC70 VBS Adventures
It's not officially summertime, but Tori's is soooooooo ready for Vacation Bible School. (Hopefully, her interest in more in helping youngsters than in sitting by Tommy Harper in VBS chapel sessions.)
"Hey, I HEARD that!" Tori shouted with an air of annoyance...osity...ish...ness.
"Um...annoyance...osity...ish...ness?" she asked.
(Sorry, Internet Update Guy couldn't think of a really, long word that fit and still ended with ness.)
Anyway, it seems that Tori's VBS experience will be less than she'd hoped...yet in another way...more than she expected.
Find out what's happening Saturday and Wednesday on Faith Crossing. We're exploring the adolescent journey of faith.

Stop Picking at It!
Has your mother ever told you that? You had a wound and wouldn't let it heal. Sometimes those wounds are not so much physical as emotional. Join us for a tale of wounds, fishing and how sometimes...you just have to leave them alone if you ever want to find true healing.
Also, some warning signs to help us recognize when a friend may be in very serious trouble.
Join us Saturday and Wednesday for Faith Crossing. Helping you find victory in the midst of change...at the crossroads of life.

FC111 & 112- Spiritualize Your Life
Tori McIntire faces many troubles and trials in life. (Thus, her oft-heard cry, "That's it. It's official. My life is over.") Some of Tori's most recent struggles can be summarized in two words: "Roland Pitui." But before Roland was the unreasonable taskmaster for the cruise contest at Roscoe's Coffee Shop, he was actually a very popular guy. People like a winner and Roland was the reigning champ of a local game show.
That quiz program--Tori's favorite-- reminds us that there are things to be learned in the trivia and everyday happenings of life.
"So what can we learn from that shirt you're wearing, Internet Update Guy?" asked Tori with a smile. "That you're color blind?"
(Internet Update Guy was reportedly not amused at Tori's little joke.)
Join us Saturday and Wednesday to explore the adolescent journey of faith right here on Faith Crossing.

FC139- The Cultist Next Door
Have you ever thought you knew someone and then were caught off guard to learn of some crazy choice he made? (And NO, Tori, this has nothing to do with your Dad's decision to combine formal wear and Flip Flops at last summer's Hawaii banquet.)
For the past few weeks the folks around the town of Faith Crossing have been wondering what happened to local teen Jay Horn. Was it a reckless act of youthful exuberance that took him to some far-off land? Was he abducted by a deranged poultry transporter from Decatur? The truth may be even worse.
This week we find out where Jay Horn has been and some things to watch out for when dealing with the enticement of false religions.

FC54-Hello! Is Anybody LISTENING?
Ahh, it's Sunday morning, and we're sitting in church. We're in our usual seats and the Pastor is saying his usual inspiring things to help equip us for God's service. But as we sit there looking so respectable on the OUTSIDE, what's happening INSIDE?
In other words, are we really LISTENING? It's been said that the average American's attention span is not 30 minutes...not even 3 minutes...but rather 17 seconds. (Did you catch that?) Seventeen SECONDS before our minds are off into the land of who-knows-what! One mind is off to the land of "what-happened-last-week" or "what's happening tonight" or "the funny hairstyle of the lady sitting in the pew in front of you" or whatever.
What's going on in your mind when the Pastor's at the pulpit?
Join us Saturday and Wednesday for Faith Crossing...exploring the adolescent journey of faith with you.

FC87-Maggie the Cut-Up
Describe a guy as a "cut-up" and you probably mean he's the class clown, always trying to make people laugh. Well, Maggie's a cut-up, but in a different way. Sure, she loves a good laugh. But this time, she figured her problem was no laughing matter.
Tori remains unconvinced, especially as she clings to the hope of some day obtaining the coveted Raphael Guccipolo shoes through the power of "The CARD."
The Bible has a lot to say about money and material things. Consider the powerful enticement of "easy credit" and the freedom brought by a little "plastic surgery." That's this week on Faith Crossing...exploring the journey of faith with you.
|
FC84- A Dent in God's Car
Q: What kind of car does God have?
(If you guessed a cool blue convertible, you may be right. It just depends.) Here's the answer:
A: It looks exactly like yours.
Join us Saturday as we consider the real owner of this stuff we call our own.
Saturday and Wednesday on Faith Crossing...exploring the adolescent journey of faith with you.

FC27-I Know What You're Thinking
What if everybody could hear your thoughts? Suppose we attached some kind of speaker to your head and broadcast everything that came into your mind for the enlightenment of those around you? Then everyone would know your opinion about Aunt Emmy's new blue and brown polka-dot dress or Uncle Bert's new orange toupee or...anything that happened to come into your skull?
Would you LIKE that?
You're shaking your head, "No." (Or maybe it was actually "NOOOO!!")
The fact is, it's good that people don't know all our thoughts, because a lot of things come into our heads that really shouldn't come out of our mouths at that moment...if EVER.
This week on Faith Crossing we think about...well, thoughts as we continue exploring the adolescent journey of faith. Saturday and Wednesday on BBN.
