KENNY MCCOMAS was founder and pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Rittman, Ohio. He served the church from 1959 to 1976. He traveled extensively in evangelistic and mission work in Europe and the Middle East. He also visited several Central and South American countries. Dr. McComas authored five books and has two patriotic sermons which have been read into the Congressional Record.

LEHMAN STRAUSS taught Old Testament history at Philadelphia Bible Institute, and served as pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bristol, Pennsylvania, from 1939 to 1957. After that, he pastored in Michigan until 1964, when he resigned to devote full time to an itinerant Bible conference and evangelistic ministry around the world. Dr. Strauss was residing in Florida and writing his 19th book at the age of 86 when the Lord called him home in 1997.

JOE ALDRICH was appointed president of Multnomah Bible College and Seminary in 1978 and retired in that post because of his health in 1996. He was a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary who was recognized as a national evangelical leader. He wrote more than a dozen books, including the classic bestseller on Lifestyle Evangelism. Dr. Aldrich passed away in 2009 at the age of 68 after a 15-year battle with Parkinson's disease.

J. ALLEN BLAIR began a daily radio broadcast called "Glad Tidings" in St. Louis, Missouri in 1957. It has been on the air continuously, five days each week, ever since. BBN carries the broadcast each weekday morning. Dr. Blair's mission was to introduce people to Jesus Christ as Savior, the Son of God and Creator of the universe; and to help Christians mature in their faith and relationship with God. Dr. Blair went home to be with the Lord in 2007.

BRUCE DUNN was born in Toronto, Canada, and was saved in his senior year of high school. He came to America for his college and seminary education. Dr. Dunn became senior pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Illinois in 1950, where he served for over 40 years. He was best known for his weekly half-hour radio broadcast, The Grace Worship Hour, a worldwide radio outreach ministry. Dr. Dunn passed away in 1993.

HOWARD HENDRICKS, known simply as “Prof,” directly or indirectly touched millions of lives in the evangelical community and beyond. For more than sixty years, Dr. Hendricks served on the faculty of Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS), where he taught more than ten thousand students. He also ministered in person in more than eighty countries. Through speaking engagements, radio, the sixteen books he authored and coauthored, his service on numerous boards, and his work as a chaplain to the Dallas Cowboys, his reach was and continues to be worldwide. Prof Hendricks passed away in 2013 at the age of 88.

BOB GAGE was a Baptist minister and Christian author. He pastored in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan, Florida, and in New York City. His last pastorate was at First Baptist Church in Dunkirk, New York. He founded the Christian Writers League in 1996 and had been active in radio broadcasts. He passed away in 2015 at the age of 73.

THEODORE EPP began his ministry as a pastor in Oklahoma, where he received his first taste of radio preaching. Mr. Epp moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, to establish the Back to the Bible Broadcast. That was May 1, 1939. Dr. Epp served as General Director for the broadcast until 1984. He continued to serve the ministry as well as perform other speaking engagements until his death the next year. Theodore Epp was known for his quiet, but thorough teaching of the Word.

BILL RICE III is an evangelist who grew up in an atmosphere of revival and evangelism. In 1953, his parents, Bill and Cathy Rice, founded the Bill Rice Ranch. In his teen years he became "camp foreman" under his father. After the home going of Dr. Bill Rice, the reins of leadership fell upon the capable shoulders of Bill Rice III. He served as president from 1978 until 2003 when his son Wil Rice IV received the reins of leadership. Dr. Bill Rice III is actively involved in the summer camp ministry of the Ranch and speaks around the country in local church revivals and conferences.

RON REILLY served for several years as a youth pastor in Florida before going into full time evangelism. While a youth pastor, he headed up a missions trip to reach the lost in Daytona Beach. Now, 42 years later, he continues to direct this annual youth evangelistic outreach which has seen hundreds of souls saved and has been life-changing for many participating youth from across the country. JAMES NAISMITH was born in India in 1923 to missionary parents. At age 5, James was entrusted to the care of a family in Scotland. He graduated from the university at age 21, becoming the youngest doctor in Scotland. James Naismith was a founder of Kawartha Lakes Bible College and one of its most loved teachers. He retired at age 60 to devote himself more fully to the Lord's work and traveled throughout many countries, preaching, teaching, and encouraging God's people. Dr. Naismith went Home to be with his Lord on Feb 9, 2009.

KEN POURE proclaimed the message of Christ in hundreds of Family Forums across the nation. Ken was well-known for practical, humorous and down-to-earth teaching and preaching. BOB SMITH was a professor of Philosophy at Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was also used by the Lord in Bible conference ministry for many years. Dr. Smith not only appealed to the heart but enforced that appeal with logic and reason. He is now with the Lord.

J. OSWALD SANDERS was a general director of Overseas Missionary Fellowship (then known as China Inland Mission) in the 1950s and 1960s. He was born in New Zealand and gained a law degree in 1922. J. Oswald Sanders left a promising law practice to serve as an instructor and administrator at the Bible College of New Zealand. He became an elder statesman and worldwide conference speaker from his retirement in 1969 until his death. J. Oswald Sanders wrote prolifically, with many of his books being translated into German, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and other languages. He passed away in 1992 at the age of 90.

Rich went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies at Pensacola Christian College (Pensacola, Florida) in 1989. He entered full-time evangelism in 1994. His ministry centered in Toronto, Canada, where he pastored the Peoples Church from 1915 to 1959. Bedridden for the last months of his life, Oswald Smith passed away in 1986 at the age of 96.

STUART LATIMER grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, and graduated from Bob Jones University where he met his wife and taught for more than a decade. He became pastor of a Baptist church in Greenville, South Carolina, and developed a college ministry for students at nearby Clemson and Furman universities. ERWIN LUTZER was born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada. He became Senior Pastor of the Moody Church in Chicago in 1980 and served in that role for 36 years. On May 22 of last year, Dr. Lutzer transitioned to the role of Pastor Emeritus, acting as a "goodwill ambassador" for the Moody Church and continuing his broadcast, speaking, and writing ministry in Chicago and around the world. DICK WOODWARD founded the Virginia Beach Community Chapel in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1956. In 1979, he was called to assist two founding elders in planting the Williamsburg Community Chapel in Williamsburg, Virginia. Pastor Woodward taught the Scriptures on a weekly and daily basis on commercial television stations in the Norfolk, Virginia area for more than 15 years. In 1980, Dick was diagnosed with a degenerative disease of the spinal cord that slowly left him a bedfast quadriplegic. That illness was the impetus for him to bring to audio, video and print form the systematic Bible survey curriculum he had been teaching for decades. The resulting collection of teaching, called the Mini Bible College, has been translated into 31 languages. Pastor Woodward passed away in 2014.

J. ALLEN BLAIR began a daily radio broadcast called "Glad Tidings" in St. Louis, Missouri in 1957. It has been on the air continuously, five days each week, ever since. BBN carries the broadcast each weekday morning. Dr. Blair's mission was to introduce people to Jesus Christ as Savior, the Son of God and Creator of the universe; and to help Christians mature in their faith and relationship with God. Dr. Blair went home to be with the Lord in 2007.

IAN THOMAS was the Founder and International Director of Torchbearers of the Capernwray Missionary Fellowship. With the intention of becoming a missionary in Africa, he studied medicine at London University for 2 years. At age 19, God called Ian Thomas into an evangelistic and Bible teaching ministry which has spread around the world, in the utilization of Bible schools and conference centers. Ian Thomas passed away in 2007.

VANCE HAVNER was a revivalist who had a quick wit. He was a popular speaker and his extensive Bible knowledge made him an effective preacher. Dr. Havner was a native of Catawba County, North Carolina. He preached his first sermon at the age of 12, and was ordained at the age of 15. Vance Havner pastored in North Carolina and South Carolina and became a full-time evangelist in the 1930's. He went home to be with the Lord in 1986 at the age of 84.

CHARLES RYRIE was a dispensational scholar and Christian educator best known for the popular study Bible that bears his name. Dr. Ryrie taught Systematic Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary before serving as dean of doctoral studies for more than two decades until his retirement in 1983. A man with a heart for international missions, he served on the executive council of Central American Mission (now known as Camino Global) for 23 years. Dr. Ryrie passed away earlier this year at the age of 90.

ADRIAN ROGERS pastored the Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee for 32 years. He is known as one of the fathers of the conservative resurgence movement that brought the Southern Baptist Convention back to its biblical and historical roots. The face and deep voice of Dr. Rogers were known to millions of believers worldwide thanks to his Love Worth Finding television and radio ministry, which is carried in more than 150 countries. The radio broadcast is heard on BBN each weekday morning. Dr. Rogers passed away in 2005 at the age of 74.

24- ORATORIO: HANDEL'S MESSIAH is one of the greatest works of it's kind ever written by man. It was composed in the incredibly short span of 24 days in 1741. Handel used as his text certain passages selected from the Bible.
BBN will feature Part 1 of the Messiah, which contains the prophecy and narrative of the Nativity. The performance will end with the opening and closing chorus of Part 2; the closing being the familiar "Hallelujah Chorus". Music is provided by the Toronto Symphony and Chorus. Copies are not available through BBN.

DAVE BREESE was saved as a teenager in Chicago. Dave founded the ministry of Christian Destiny in 1963 and was influencial in the establishment of the AWANA Youth Association. He was heard on several radio broadcasts during his career. Dave Breese was a popular speaker at churches, Bible conferences, universities and evangelistic meetings. The Lord called him home to heaven in 2002 at the age of 75.
