Don’t let me die!

Don’t let me die!

Former Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, mouthed his final words on his deathbed, because he was too weak to speak out loud. He pleaded: “I don’t want to die!  Please don’t let me die!” Death is an appointment we all must keep! The Holy Scriptures tell us, “... it is appointed unto to man once to die, but after this the judgment.” To procrastinate making ready for this appointment is to treat God’s warning with reckless disregard and just as senseless as the fool that says, “NO!

Jesus offers an invitation to every sinner – “Come.” Come to Him in faith acknowledging you are a sinner and deserving of God’s wrath. Come, believing that He is who God says that He is; He is God; He is the Savior who came to die on the cross. He took the shame and punishment of your sin, the judgment you deserve. He died in your place. God said He rose again and is seated beside Him. Jesus awaits your response.  What is your answer? Will you believe Him? Will you come to Him?

The dying words of Evangelist D.L. Moody were quite different than those of President Chavez. Mr. Moody said: "Earth recedes, heaven opens before me. If this is death, it is sweet! There is no valley here. God is calling me, and I must go! ...This is my triumph; this is my coronation day! It is glorious!"

Prepare to meet thy God,” these are words worthy of your consideration. Have you yet come to Him? If you would care to confidentially discuss your spiritual concerns with a Bible counselor, you can do so by going to BBNchat.org.
