THE BELOVED SERVANT

John Kenneth Galbraith, a noted economist and confidant of President Lyndon Johnson, received a call at his home from the president.  Emily, the housekeeper answered the phone.  President Johnson identified himself and asked to speak with Ken Galbraith.  Emily responded that he had asked not to be disturbed.  The President replied, “Wake him up.  I want to talk with him.”  The dutiful housekeeper answered:” No. Mr. President. I work for him, not you.”  Later when Ken Galbraith returned President Johnson’s call he told Ken he wanted Emily to come work for him at the White House.

Now as then, the general view of a servant is that they are lowly workers, but a good one brings pleasure to his master.  Of His own account, Jesus stated that He did not come into our world to be served but rather to be a servant.  The Father Himself referred to Jesus as His “Beloved Servant.”

We have a new course to offer, 32600, The Gospel of Mark.  This course is taken from the book, The Gospel According to Mark, written by famed writer and Bible teacher, G. Campbell Morgan.  These lessons are taught by one of our BBN Staff personnel.  You will find this to be one of the most thorough book studies that we offer.  As you think your way through this powerful study your knowledge of the life of Christ will mushroom and your appreciation of Him will become more profound.

Many today are unfamiliar with G. Campbell Morgan.  He was born in England in 1864, the son of an English farmer and Pastor. Morgan came to trust Christ as Savior at an early age and preached his first sermon at age 13.  He served as Pastor of the famed Westminster Chapel of London for many years.  He spent 67 of his 81 years of life in ministry.  G. Campbell Morgan was called “the Prince of Expositors in the twentieth century. He died in 1945.

We hope you will take advantage of this great course in the near future.
