How’s Your Prayer Life?

Are you using your resources wisely?  God has richly blessed us all in many ways and at times we neglect or squander the riches our generous Heavenly Father makes available.  Specifically, are you taking advantage of your grand resource – PRAYER?

Our Heavenly Father has opened His presence to us through the sacrifice of His own dear Son.  We are invited to “come boldly to His throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).  The word “help” in that verse is a word picture of cinching up the rigging and ropes on a ship so that the cargo and voyage will be more secure. God offers His help, His assistance to make your voyage of life more secure.  Perhaps the winds of trouble, sickness, financial distress, or family struggles are whipping about you frighteningly.  The Father invites you to pray- talk to Him.  He says: “Be casting all your care upon Me, I care for you.”

Not only are we invited to pray, we are commanded to pray.  In His Word Jesus says emphatically, “Men ought always to pray, and not to faint (lose heart).”  He says through the Apostle's pen: “Pray without ceasing.”

Do you feel like you are doing well in your praying?  If you are like most, you could use some encouragement in your prayer life.  BBN-BI provides two practical courses to energize and to revitalize your praying:  Dr. Warren Wiersbe, The School of Prayer, course number 21800 in our Christian Living and Family Studies and Dr. Dino Pedrone, Prayer, course number 51400 in our Bible Elective Studies.

We hope you will take advantage of these resources and especially your God-given resource of prayer.  God invites you in His Word: “Call unto Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3).
