The main thrust of the Book of Exodus is that it is the book of Redemption and the truth is centered in a nation. The name of the Book means "the way out." In Genesis, God is revealing, and in the Book of Exodus, He is redeeming. The Book of Genesis is centered in a family, and in Exodus the truth is centered in a nation. This has to do with the formation of the nation Israel.
